Levelland ISD board administers oaths and re-elects officers; all motions pass unopposed

Crystal Hill, secretary to the superintendent and a notary public, administered the Oath of Office to trustees Matt Buxkemper (District 5), Gary Bridges (At-Large) and Carrie Ellis (At-Large) during the May 20, 2026, board meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Donald Heseman served as temporary chair to open nominations for board officers. Secretary Treva Potter nominated Carrie Ellis to remain as Board President; Vice President Mike Stafford seconded the motion and it passed unopposed. Trustee Matt Buxkemper nominated Mike Stafford as Vice President, seconded by Trustee Joyce Johnson; the motion passed unopposed. Trustee Joyce Johnson nominated Treva Potter as Secretary, seconded by Vice President Stafford; that motion also passed unopposed. The board recorded no dissent on these officer elections.
