Chair certifies May 2 Lone Oak ISD trustee election; Hogue and Patterson declared winners

The chair, acting as the presiding officer of the canvassing authority for the Lone Oak ISD Board of Trustees, read and certified the district's May 2, 2026 trustee election totals during a special meeting May 13. “I hereby verify that the following are the total number of all votes received for each candidate during the early voting period and as shown by individual precinct returns on election day and include absentee mail-in ballots and provisional ballots,” the chair said as the totals were read aloud.

The record shows Lee Hogue received 118 votes, Clint Patterson received 112 votes and Chase Stokes received 33 votes, for a total of 263 votes cast. The meeting minutes further break down the 263 votes as 23 absentee ballots, 69 cast during the early voting period and 171 on election day. Based on those totals, the chair declared that Lee Hogue and Clint Patterson received the most votes and will fill the two open positions on the Lone Oak ISD Board of Trustees. The special meeting was called to order at 9:07 PM and adjourned at 9:09 PM.

No formal roll-call vote on the canvass is recorded in the meeting text. Attendance on the record lists multiple board members as present or absent; Jeremy McClanahan and Drew McMurtre are recorded as present, and several members are recorded as absent.
