Marquette County Board of Health approves small increase to flu vaccine fees

The Marquette County Board of Health voted Sept. 2 to increase its flu vaccine fees for the upcoming season. Health Officer Jayme Sopha told the board the standard-dose vaccine would rise from $48 to $52 and the high-dose from $100 to $112; Mike Raddatz moved to approve the change and Dave Benson seconded, and the motion carried.
Sopha said the department primarily bills Medicaid and Medicare for high-dose vaccines and that some individuals occasionally pay out of pocket for the standard dose. "The Health Department primarily bills Medicaid/Medicare for the high doses, and on occasion, some individuals pay out of pocket for Standard Dose," Sopha said. The board did not provide a recorded roll-call tally in the minutes beyond noting the motion carried.
