The Llano ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a class‑size exemption waiver Sept. 23 after district staff reported a 4th‑grade classroom at Llano Elementary had 23 students, exceeding the 22:1 K–4 limit that requires local board and TEA approval.
The motion was made by Jeff Kuykendall and seconded by Paul Hull and was recorded as unanimous. The minutes state the waiver will cover the 2024–2025 school year for the affected 4th‑grade class. District staff will submit the necessary documentation to TEA as required for K–4 class‑size exemptions.
