Lewisville ISD board approves two principal hires, terminates employee in unanimous votes

At a June 1, 2026 work session in the LISD Admin Center Boardroom, the Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees approved two principal appointments and terminated an employee in separate motions.
A motion by Katherine Sells, seconded by Dr. Sheila Taylor, approved Monica Koen as Principal of Independence Elementary School; the minutes record that Ms. Koen and family were recognized and that the motion “carried unanimously (7-0).” Later, a motion by Madison Lopez, seconded by Dr. Sheila Taylor, approved Meredith Fiaccone as Principal of Briarhill Middle School; that motion also carried unanimously (7-0). Both appointments were recorded under the board’s open-session actions following closed-session deliberations.
