Police report, grant window and SRO MOU noted by Chaffee council

Police and public-safety items took up a series of presentations at the July 20 Chaffee City Council meeting. Police Chief Sullivan supplied nuisance-warning and citation reports covering 06/01–07/20/2026 and a street-by-street nuisance-warning summary for the calendar year to date. The Chief also briefed the council on personnel and grant matters.

Chief Sullivan told the council that "the Blue Shield grant has been opened up for designation and the allotted amount can be up to $28,895.00." He also reported that "the MOU for the SRO 2026-2027 school year has been received." The council approved a $0.55-per-hour anniversary increase for Ashley Dambach, who is approaching a 15-year anniversary on 11/21/2026; the motion to approve the increase was made by Councilmember Steve Milz and seconded by Mark Perkins and recorded as carried.

The chief reported an enforcement note on a local resident, Bobby Hess: Hess was sent to Sikeston for a 96-hour commitment, evaluated and released, and the department will cite him if further issues arise. Chief Sullivan also described logistics for upcoming events, including student and football-team parking assistance and a Plants Plus shuttle for 'Smok’in On The Rails' on Aug. 21–22 and requested alley closures for an Aug. 1 Back To School Bash from 9:00 to 1:30.
