Commissioners approve 60-acre farmstand rezone in District 5

The Walton County Board of Commissioners approved Z26-0123 on July 7, 2026, permitting the rezoning of 60.11 acres from A1 to A to permit growing and selling fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers with customer contact and an up-pick operation. Donnie A. Wright, III, Esq. spoke on behalf of applicant William Paul Jones; Planning Commission recommended approval as submitted and no members of the public opposed the request.
Commissioner Jeremy Adams moved to approve the rezoning and Commissioner Pete Myers seconded; all district commissioners voted in favor. The board recorded the approval without additional conditions. The approval enables the applicant to proceed with the farmstand and up-pick operation under the A zoning designation.
