Facilities committee reviews GermBlast renewal and bond RFQ timeline

District facilities staff presented two routine administrative items: the annual renewal of the GermBlast service contract and an update on bond implementation.
Staff said the GermBlast contract is being renewed, that costs have risen slightly from last year while services remain the same, and that GermBlast treats buses once per semester and provides targeted cleaning in athletic and food-service areas. On bonds, staff reported that bond funds have been received and deposited at PlainsCapital Bank; RFQs for architectural and real estate services issued Aug. 1 were set to close Sept. 1 but will be extended to Sept. 2 because of the holiday. Staff said the facilities committee will likely review architect presentations and then recommend assignments for full-board approval.
