District staff and Schneider Electric briefed trustees on progress in an LED lighting project that began in December. Staff reported that "Lighting upgrades are now 100% complete at PlainsCapital Park," several elementary campuses have finished upgrades, and work in the natatorium is roughly 90% complete.
The presentation noted overnight work at middle and high schools to avoid classroom disruption, dimmer switches for classroom flexibility, and motion sensors plus daylight-harvesting systems for long-term energy savings. Staff also described a complex natatorium scope—roof replacement, pool resurfacing and mechanical upgrades—that was finished in time for the school year despite tight scheduling. No contract amendments or additional funding requests were presented during the update.
