Auction items are actively bidding and expected to raise higher prices near closing. The department is also tracking equipment useful life to support future budgeting.
Smith asked permission to order a replacement pickup to replace his current five-year-old truck with nearly 99,000 miles. Delivery for a state-contract basic model was estimated at about ten weeks. The Superintendent and board discussed an estimated price range "between $50,000 and $70,000," while the Supervisor noted the Town recently spent about $106,000 on another truck and that purchasing now may need to wait for the next budget cycle or be delayed until January. The Superintendent was asked to obtain a firm price and report back to the board.
The new patrol truck was reported to be working well and nearly ready for regular use (top light installed and road-legal). The board did not approve an immediate purchase pending formal pricing and budget review.
