The board approved relocation of the Clifton–Fine Youth Commission to Cranberry Lake after the traditional Star Lake site was unavailable this year. Supervisor Griffin said participating students from other towns would be bused in and the school will provide transportation.
The program will be based at the pavilion behind the Clifton Community Center and include arts-and-crafts, playground use, basketball, tennis/pickleball, the library, and the beach. Supervisor Griffin and board members approved a slate of hires to staff the program. A motion by Mary Zuhlsdorf, seconded by Brett Blackmer, approved the following hires: Lilly Thompson (Director), Jolee Verne, Addison Curry, Harper Davis, Emilynn Silsby, Peyton Johnson, Kaylin Brown, and Michaela Daniels. The motion carried (Ayes = 4, Nays = 0, Absent = 1).
Board members emphasized maintaining participation through a broader set of activities; past attendance was strong for the first weeks but typically declined by about week five. The meeting record did not include hourly wages or total personnel costs for the season; those budget details will be managed by the clerk and bookkeeper.
