At the Aug. 27 meeting Craig Tipping moved to postpone indefinitely the proposed resolution opposing the Tarrant Appraisal District's 2025–2026 reappraisal plan. Michelle Newsom seconded the motion and the board voted 7-0 to postpone indefinitely.
The public-comment list for the meeting shows Jo Anna Cardoza, Marcella Jones, Sherron Richard and Sayeda Bilqees spoke on agenda item 12.5 prior to the board's action. The board did not adopt a formal position opposing the reappraisal plan when it chose to postpone the resolution indefinitely.
Why it matters: postponement leaves the board without a formal statement on the appraisal district's reappraisal plan and provides more time for trustees to consider public input and any additional information before taking a binding position.
