The Magnolia Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Feb. 9 to call a bond election for May 2, 2026 asking voters to authorize up to $465,688,326 for district capital projects.
Measure A, as ordered by the board, lists projects including construction of High School No. 3, two new elementary schools, acquisition of sites for new schools, safety and security priority improvements, purchase of new school buses, and other maintenance and facility upgrades. The board approved the order by motion and unanimous vote; the motion to call the election was made by Sonja Ebel and seconded by Dacia Owens.
The order specifies May 2, 2026 as the election date, directs the district to conduct early voting and to contract with Montgomery County for election services, and states that, if approved, the district will pledge an ad valorem tax sufficient to pay principal and interest on the bonds. The official ballot will ask voters to approve or reject the proposition authorizing the bonds.
