Dr. Melissa Fields presented recommended instructional materials for grades 6-12, reporting that Exploros materials and related pre- and post-tests were piloted by social studies teachers with positive feedback.
The Board approved the recommended materials by motion (moved by Kevin Virdell, seconded by Crystal Tubig) with a spending cap of $27,810 to be funded from the Instructional Materials Allotment. Dr. Fields noted the purchase would support curriculum alignment and assessment of student learning gains.
Administration indicated the purchase follows a pilot and will proceed under the district's instructional materials allotment procedures.
