The board authorized administration to solicit quotes and move forward with purchasing library furniture and technology for Willow Springs Middle School and Lovejoy High School, funded with bond proceeds. Administration said the work is intended to create more collaborative, future-ready library spaces with flexible seating, updated shelving and device support; no structural changes are planned and the goal is to have installations completed for the 2024–25 school year.
"What we are coming forward tonight to ask your approval for is... we really would like to create an environment that's a little bit more future ready centered... more comfortable chairs and they're able to sit and at work tables and collaborate," Dr. Tinsley said in the presentation. Trustees approved proceeding to obtain proposals and return design/mockups and cost breakdowns for public review; one trustee later recorded an abstention on related construction matters (Mark Wheelus). Administration pledged to share vendor proposals publicly before finalizing purchases.
