Marquette County Highway Committee forwards 2026 budget to Executive and Finance

The committee voted to send the 2026 Highway Department budget to the county Executive and Finance Committee for consideration; Lance Achterberg moved the referral and John Bennett seconded the motion, which was recorded as carried.
The referral does not set dollar amounts in committee; committee members discussed the department’s 2025 spending and remaining balances as context. Brian reported that as of July, the county had $671,081 remaining in its 2025 highway budget and that the department has used 87.39% of its 2025 state budget with $115,478 remaining.
