Marshall Independent School District trustees recognized early childhood teacher Elsa Martin at their Sept. 16 meeting, citing her long hours, creativity and support for students and families.
Principal Dana Culberson described Martin’s commitment in the minutes: “Mrs. Martin is a dependable, hardworking teacher who cares about her students and parents. She is always willing to help in whatever capacity needed. Her creativity is admired by all who enter our building. I am so grateful for her contributions to the staff, students and parents. Her early mornings and late evenings, all done with a positive attitude, really showcase her exceptional dedication. She's one in a million and that's why she was chosen as the teacher of the year and now she is receiving The Extra Mile Award!” The board acknowledged the recognition during the meeting.
