MFISD presents first-read of 2026–27 student handbook, code of conduct and extracurricular code

Stan Whittle presented the 2026–2027 Student Handbook, the Student Code of Conduct, and the Extracurricular Code of Conduct (ECOC) for first reading on June 15. The presentation highlighted changes recommended by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and an updated UIL eligibility calendar in the ECOC.
Mr. Whittle told trustees the items would return for approval at the June 24 special called meeting. Because the materials were provided as first reads, trustees did not vote on them at the June 15 meeting. Administration indicated they would incorporate any final edits before the June 24 approval session.
