The Marble Falls ISD Board on June 15 approved the proposed 2026–2027 compensation plan after discussion of salary step adjustments and health insurance premiums.
Chief Financial Officer Bill Orr outlined the compensation package, noting inclusion of HB 2 Teacher Retention Allotment increases for eligible teachers and changes to Steps 0, 1, and 2 from the first-read version. Orr also noted employee-only health insurance premiums had risen from $484 to $521 per month; trustees decided to increase the district contribution to match the higher premium. Trustee Kevin Naumann asked specifically what the additional cost would be to raise the district contribution to $521 per month during discussion.
The motion to approve the compensation plan and the increased basic insurance contribution passed unanimously. The approved change means the district will contribute $521 per month toward employee-only health insurance for plan-eligible employees for the 2026–2027 plan year.
