The Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees voted June 15 to adopt the district's 2026–27 budgets for the General Fund, Child Nutrition Fund and Debt Service Fund following a public hearing.
"A motion was made to approve the 2026-2027 budgets for the General Fund, Child Nutrition Fund, and the Debt Service Fund as presented," said Trustee John Knight, who moved the motion; Gary Vineyard seconded. The motion passed 5 0yea, 0 0nay, with trustees Jessica Ward and Richard Pena absent.
District finance staff presented the proposed budgets during a public meeting required by Board policy CE(LEGAL) and Texas Education Code Chapter 44. Dr. Rebecca Metzger explained the funds before the board closed the hearing at 7:16 p.m. and took final action.
The board did not specify line-item changes during the meeting; trustees approved the budgets as presented. The district will post adopted budget documents as required by state law and Board policy.
