On July 1, Florence Township Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-15 on second reading, amending Chapter 91 to allow for early consumption and sale of cannabis at locations specifically approved for Class 5 retail sales that contain consumption areas. Council opened and closed the hearing with no public comment and recorded a unanimous vote to adopt the changes.
Councilmember Gina Sullivan moved to open the public hearing and Talaya Loftin seconded the adoption motion; the measure passed with all present councilmembers voting yes. The ordinance updates conditional-use language for retail cannabis operations; staff will publish the adopted ordinance and provide guidance for any applicant seeking a Class 5 retail approval with consumption area.
