Council hears Burlco JIF overview; administrator says renewal resolution will be on first August meeting

Florence Township Council heard a presentation on the Burlington County Joint Insurance Fund and risk-management services at its July 8 meeting. Christopher Powell of Hardenburgh Insurance Group described his role as the Township’s risk management consultant, and Paul Miola of the Burlco JIF gave an overview of the fund’s operations and renewal options.
Miola told the council that "the JIF has been around for 35 years," framing the fund as a long-standing regional option for municipal insurance pooling. Administrator Thomas A. Sahol told council members that "there will be a resolution at the first August meeting for Council approval authorizing the renewal of the Burlco JIF and authorizing the Mayor and other staff to execute the documents necessary to be sent to the JIF." The administration said specific renewal documents will be on the upcoming agenda for formal action.
