McCamey ISD recognizes students and athletes; principals and counselors deliver academic updates
Summary
At the May 13 meeting McCamey ISD principals and counselors presented academic reports and honored Students of the Month and athletic achievers, including regional qualifiers in golf and multiple track and baseball athletes.
Primary Principal Andrea Diaz, Middle School Principal and Athletic Director Michael Woodard, and High School Counselor Brenna Heredia presented the academic report and recognized students of the month across grade levels. Named Students of the Month included Ella Woodard, Madison Carrasco, Camilla Lujan, Jose Mejia, Marely Mota and Dora Parada.
Athletic recognitions included Outstanding Athletes of the Month—Davina Daughtry, Antonio Galan, Brylee Diaz and Jaye Martinez—and coach recognitions for track qualifiers Ja'Markus Smith, a'Zaiah Smith and Aiden Torres; regional golf qualifiers Yahaira Lujan, Olivia Mosley, Dora Parada, Blakeleigh Barnes and Mady Valles; and baseball athletes including Antonio Galan, Steven Rodriguez, Aiden Torres, Landon Hines, Ruben Baeza, Niko Lujan and Donovan Young.
The recognitions and reports were presented during the consent and academic report portion of the meeting and were included in the minutes as formal recognitions for the district’s students and coaches.
