At the May 13 meeting the McCamey ISD Board approved a General Legal Services Agreement with Leon, Alcala, Morse & Reynolds, PLLC and a separate professional services proposal from the same firm for Chapter 313 reporting and maintenance of existing value limitation agreements. Gerard Renteria moved the legal services motion; Ramon Venegas seconded and the motions carried with trustees Selby, Silva, Acosta, Venegas and Butler voting in favor.
The board also approved a 2026–2027 interlocal agreement with Region 15 Education Service Center for technology and library management services in the amount of $2,000.00. Separately, a motion to authorize the Upton County Appraisal District’s proposed 2026 budget amendment to retain $12,720.85 for its new building and increased expenditures failed and did not pass the board vote as recorded.
These actions were recorded in the formal motions portion of the meeting; the Chapter 313 services agreement was described as professional services for reporting and maintaining existing value limitation agreements.
