The Maypearl Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a special meeting on Jan. 16, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Lorene Smith Kirkpatrick Elementary School. President Tricia Ikard announced a quorum and that notice of the meeting had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
The meeting included an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance led by President Ikard. Board members recorded as present in the minutes were Tricia Ikard (President), Steve Cooper (Vice‑President), Jeremy Norman, Justin Stinson, Adam Smith and James Eubank. Trustee Jarod Wright, Secretary, was listed as absent. Administration attendees included Superintendent Ritchie Bowling, Assistant Superintendent KayLynn Day and HR Director Andrea Shearman; staff present included Josh Boone.
After an executive session for the superintendent evaluation (see separate article), the board reconvened and adopted a resolution to authorize wage payments for employees for emergency closures on Jan. 9–10, 2025 due to inclement weather. The meeting adjourned at 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2025.
