At its Oct. 21, 2024 meeting, the Marshall Independent School District Board of Trustees formally recognized David Crockett Elementary employee Cescille Thompson for her classroom leadership and dedication.
Principal Nakena Bayless, speaking during the recognition, said Thompson "brings a wealth of knowledge to our 2nd grade team" and noted that "the only thing she was concerned about during that time was her classroom and students." The board also acknowledged Principal Appreciation Month; Superintendent Dr. Richele Langley said $50 Amazon gift cards donated anonymously would be distributed to district principals.
