MWPISD reports STAAR gains, preliminary 'Superior Achievement' FIRST rating

Dr. Stacy Parker, Monahans‑Wickett‑Pyote ISD superintendent, told the board that the district's overall STAAR accountability rating improved from a 'D' in 2023 to a 'C' in 2024 and remained a 'C' in 2025, and that the 2025 overall score increased from 2024. She also reported that the district's preliminary 2024–25 FIRST Rating is "Superior Achievement" with a score of 100; the district expects the final FIRST rating in October and plans a public hearing when the state posts that result.
Dr. Parker also provided August enrollment figures (as of Aug. 19, 2025) and presented the 2025–26 student handbook, which was uploaded to BoardBook before the meeting for trustees' review. The enrollment report and handbook materials were provided to trustees for planning and for required public notice ahead of the new school year.
