The Merkel ISD Board of Trustees approved personnel actions after returning from executive session on Sept. 17. Trustee Brit Pursley moved to approve the resignations of Stephen Alonge and Tiffany Rawlings "as presented," and Trustee Kerry Fryar seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Later in the same open session, Trustee Kyle Doan moved to approve a good-cause exemption as presented, with Trustee Brit Pursley seconding; that motion also passed unanimously. The minutes record the approvals but do not specify the subject, length or monetary effect of the good-cause exemption.
The minutes also state there were no contract offerings to certified personnel for 2025-2026 and note that no additional contract actions were taken at this meeting.
