Council adopted an ordinance to order a general and special election on Nov. 3, 2026 and confirmed several appointments to local committees.
The council approved Ordinance 2026‑33 authorizing a Nov. 3, 2026 general and special election to elect the mayor and to fill council seats, including a special election for a remaining term, and authorized the city manager to execute implementing documents. The ordinance passed with a recorded vote noting one council member absent.
Council then filled an open seat on the comprehensive plan oversight committee by roll call; Laura DuPont received a majority of votes and was appointed. Council Member Rodriguez nominated Mae Oden to the Hopkins City Center/new city hall steering committee; council confirmed that appointment and acknowledged the nominee uses they/them pronouns.
