Board approves curriculum renewals, instructional materials and service agreements on consent agenda

The board approved the consent agenda, including curriculum and instruction purchases, software renewals, a dual-enrollment agreement with South Texas College, finance reports and Safe Schools items. Trustee Nancy Vallejo pulled three items for clarification: renewal of Mastery Prep online licenses, purchase of Numworks calculators for secondary math, and an addendum to the OneGoal statement of work. Staff explained Mastery Prep supports STAAR and ACT preparation, Numworks calculators integrate with classroom boards and computers for secondary math, and OneGoal is a nonprofit that supports CCMR outcomes and TSI testing.
After discussion of those pulled items, the board approved each by recorded vote (each passed 6-0) and then approved the remaining consent items as listed in the minutes, including check payments, revenue/expenditure reports and interlocal agreements.
