Board selects architects for three refresh projects, approves rankings for geotech and testing services

At its Sept. 16 meeting, the Navarro ISD Board of Trustees approved multiple professional selections tied to the district's 2024 Bond Construction Projects. The board approved LPA as architect for both the New Early Childhood Center / Former Elementary School Refresh Project and the Intermediate/Rebranded Elementary School Refresh Project and approved O'Connell Robertson as architect for the Junior High School Refresh Project. Each motion included delegation of authority to the superintendent to negotiate and execute contracts in a form approved by legal counsel.
The board also approved the administration's recommended ranking of professionals for geotechnical engineering, construction material testing, and surveying services for the bond projects and authorized the superintendent to negotiate with top-ranked firms and move to the next-ranked firm if negotiations were unsuccessful. All motions passed unanimously, 5-0.
Board members emphasized demonstrated competence and qualifications as the basis for ranking and selection; final contract terms and pricing were delegated to the superintendent and legal counsel for execution.
