Navarro ISD backs Guadalupe County education coalition priorities on funding, safety and retention

Superintendent Mandy Epley told the board that Navarro ISD is a member of the Guadalupe County Education Coalition (GCEC) and supports its proposed legislative priorities for the 89th Texas Legislature: school funding, school safety, accountability, and retention and recruitment of staff.
Epley noted that the district participated in the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) delegate process and appointed Board member Lacey Gosch to represent Navarro ISD at the September 2024 TASB delegate convening where membership priorities were discussed and set for the coming legislative session.
The board approved the legislative priorities as part of the consent agenda and will carry them for advocacy through county coalition channels and TASB channels as appropriate.
