Operations and technology staff briefed the board on ongoing facilities, nutrition and technology work. Dr. Ronnie Gonzalez reported Child Nutrition served 18,597 breakfasts and 32,740 lunches and that the district is preparing for a health inspection; transportation updates included that Route 50 is open and operating the new Bryan route. The district continues restoration work at the CTE Annex and high school chiller in coordination with insurer-contracted vendor Belfor.
Frank Perez reported technology work including repair plans for the Rattler Stadium and gym scoreboards, replacement of fiber from the CTE Annex to the high school, and cameras brought online for the Metal Gym and Rock Gym; district copiers and printers have been replaced under a scheduled program. CTE program notes: 21 cosmetology students are scheduled to take the written exam in Bryan on Jan. 21-22, 2025, with practical exams to follow for those who pass.
