Blossom Festival organizers announce AMP carnival, Aug. 13–16 at 9th & Elm

Organizers of the Canyon City Blossom Festival said Amusement Midway Providers (AMP) will bring a carnival Aug. 13–16 to the traditional 9th & Elm site; organizers said a contract was signed last week and thanked city staff for logistical support.
Cassie Gurl, president of the Canyon City Music and Blossom Festival, told the council Aug. 3 that Amusement Midway Providers (AMP) will bring carnival rides and midway operations to Canyon City Aug. 13–16, with the carnival located at the top of 9th Street where it has been held previously.
"After 2 years and 5 months of working behind the scenes, the wait is over... Amusement Midway Providers, AMP, will be bringing back the carnival experience to Canyon City Aug 13th through 16th," Gurl said. She thanked city staff and listed multiple staffers by name for help with site evaluations, ground preparations, fencing and permitting. Organizers said they signed the contract last week and hope a strong turnout will help convince AMP to return in future years, possibly during Blossom Weekend.
City leaders welcomed the announcement and urged residents to attend. The organizers said they are continuing to consider other potential sites for future Blossom events and thanked council liaisons who assisted in the planning process.
