Palacios ISD board approves consent agenda, DOI changes and records tax-limitation agreement with Formosa Plastics

The Palacios Independent School District Board voted to approve its consent agenda at the Oct. 13 regular meeting, accepting the minutes, a resignation and a Matagorda County Appraisal District Board nomination. "I make a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented," moved Fabian Marroquin and seconded by Dane Kubecka; the motion passed, recorded as Yea: 6, Nay: 0, Absent: 1 (Carl Filip).
The board also approved administrative DOI changes. "I make a motion to approve the DOI changes as submitted," said Ron Laws; Haley Garcia seconded and the motion passed 6–0 with one absence. Separately, the minutes record consideration of an Agreement Between the Office of the Governor, Palacios Independent School District, and Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas for limitation on taxable value for school district maintenance and operations ad valorem taxes. The minutes state "No further action needed" and note the agreement was signed by Board President Becky Aguilera; the public minutes do not include a separate roll-call vote for that agreement.
The motions recorded consistent vote tallies: Yea: 6, Nay: 0, Absent: 1. The board moved on to reports after formal actions were completed.
