Ore City ISD board approves prior minutes and one‑time retention payment

At its Oct. 27 meeting the Ore City ISD Board of Trustees approved previous meeting minutes and unanimously adopted a one‑time retention payment for staff in November (attendance will not be a factor). Votes were 6–0 on both items.
The Ore City Independent School District Board of Trustees on Oct. 27 approved minutes from the Sept. 15 and Oct. 6, 2025 meetings and authorized a one‑time retention payment to staff for November.
A motion to approve the prior minutes was made by Bobby Byrd and seconded by Virginia Harris; the vote was recorded 6–0 in favor. Later in the meeting the board voted 6–0 to modify the retention and attendance incentive so that the November payment would be paid as a retention payment only, regardless of attendance. Bobby Byrd moved the retention motion and Virginia Harris seconded it.
The board entered closed session later that evening for personnel and attorney consultation and returned to open session with no further action. The board asked for a follow‑up on a proposed fuel‑tank installation at the next regular meeting in November.
