The board recognized Pampa High School students selected to Academic All-State teams in volleyball and football and announced winners of the district's Christmas card contest.
Coach Floyd White, PHS Athletic Director, outlined the athletics department's vision "to become the standard to which all other athletic departments in our region are compared" and described academic supports: a student-athlete study hall, Monday grade checks, mandatory attendance for athletes not meeting requirements, stricter absenteeism and tardy rules, and plans to align coaching schedules to support junior high. He said the department is developing a common athletic policy and handbook for all sports.
