Elyse Peterson told trustees the middle school has implemented the Engage to Learn program and that math instruction is showing progress. Peterson said 8th graders are now permitted to check out Chromebooks and that middle school and high school staff (including Cariker) are working together to support STAAR outcomes.
Peterson cautioned that Social Studies and Science are areas of concern on STAAR not because of instruction but because of the content of the tests. She described attendance as "up and down" to date and noted MS sports are doing well this season.
