Pilot Point ISD to offer targeted summer programs and free meal service June 1–25

Assistant Superintendent Alicia Bonnett told trustees that Pilot Point ISD will operate four targeted summer programs from June 1–25 to support students across grade levels and needs. The district will offer Secondary Credit Recovery and a STAAR Bootcamp for middle and high school students, an ECC Bilingual Summer Program for Pre-K and Kindergarten bilingual learners, and an Extended School Year program to continue special education services for eligible students. Bonnett said transportation will be provided for participating students and that breakfast and lunch will be served daily on both campuses.
Dr. Brant Perry described the district’s Summer Meal Program: free meals for children 18 and younger Monday through Thursday, June 1–25. Breakfast will be served from 8:30–9:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Pilot Point Early Childhood Center (829 S. Jefferson St.) and Pilot Point High School (1300 N. Washington Street). A third location, Iglesia Bautista El Alfarero (Cumberland Trail, Valley View), is listed in the materials; the meeting minutes note an adjustment to meal service times at that site.
Bonnett and Perry also reported on summer facilities and operations work to support programs and the 2026–27 school year, including playground and classroom conversions and district HVAC maintenance.
