Pilot Point ISD joins regional memorandum to provide centralized behavioral supports for special education

Pilot Point ISD approved an MOU with Krum ISD, Ponder ISD and Specialized Education Services, Inc. to provide centralized intensive behavioral supports hosted by Krum ISD; the district will receive partial reimbursement for qualifying students.
The Pilot Point ISD Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding to participate with Krum ISD, Ponder ISD and Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) in a centralized behavioral support program. Assistant Superintendent Alicia Bonnett explained the model and said Krum ISD will serve as the host district. Bonnett stated partnering with neighboring districts is more fiscally responsible than running separate programs locally.
Board members asked about the number of spots reserved for Pilot Point students and the related costs; Bonnett said the district receives partial reimbursement for students who qualify and receive SESI services. The board approved the MOU by motion of Craig Bickers, seconded by Justin Chance, with a unanimous vote.
