Pasadena ISD board adopts proposed 2026–2027 budget and approves fund-balance resolutions

The Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously June 23 to adopt the district's proposed budget for the 2026–2027 school year.
Marshall Kendrick moved to adopt the proposed budget, and Nelda Sullivan seconded; the motion passed 6–0. Earlier in the meeting the board approved budget amendments for May and June 2026 that were presented as part of the financial section. The board also approved GASB 54 fund balance resolutions that set classifications for the district's fund balances under generally accepted accounting practices.
District officials listed the vote as AYES: Phelan, Gonzalez, Davila, Fernandez, Kendrick, and Sullivan; NOES: None. The board did not alter the proposed tax-rate hearing listed on the agenda; a public hearing item for the 2026–2027 budget and proposed tax rate appeared on the agenda and was noted for discussion with Chief Financial Officer Tamika Alford Stephens. The board indicated the adopted budget and fund-balance designations will guide fiscal operations for the coming year and direct staff reporting and audits required by state law.
