Mokena SD 159 board adopts 2024 tax levy totaling $21,351,000

Mrs. Julie Oost moved that the board adopt the 2024 Certificate of Tax Levy with the following line items: Education $15,000,000; Building Operations & Maintenance $4,175,000; Transportation $800,000; Working Cash $100,000; Municipal Retirement $225,000; Social Security $225,000; Tort Immunity $1,000; Special Education $825,000. Mrs. Oost's motion, seconded by Mrs. Anna Briscoe, passed by roll call with all seven members voting in favor.
As part of the motion Mrs. Oost stated that "The District is in compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act," and the board authorized the president to sign the Certificate of Compliance. The levy totals $21,351,000 across funds and will be filed in accordance with statutory requirements; the levy and compliance certificate were recorded in the board minutes.
