Council approves $2.5 million boost for parks relocation project

Staff said the increase reflects bids and additional work uncovered during evaluation, including interior finishes, roofing and landscaping. A staff representative said, “This is actually a bid,” explaining that detailed bid results required the budget adjustment.
Why it matters: The change moves a council-approved capital project into a higher-cost phase and will affect the city’s capital budget and allocation of a line of credit noted in the resolution. The council approved the increase by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
