The PITTSBURG ISD Board of Trustees on Sept. 23 adopted a sequence of resolutions that changed the procurement method for the Junior High Campus roof replacement and selected a contractor. The board first removed the roof replacement from the construction manager-at-risk method and determined job order contracting would provide the best value for that work.
Following that change, the board selected S&S Roofing, Inc. as the job order contractor for the existing main building roof replacement at the Junior High Campus and delegated contracting authority to the superintendent. "I make a motion that we adopt and approve the resolution selecting S&S Roofing, Inc. as the job order contractor for the Roof Replacement on Existing Main Building at Junior High Campus and delegating contracting authority to the Superintendent," the meeting record shows; the motion passed 6–0 with one absent.
The board also adopted a resolution determining the prevailing wage rate applicable to the roof replacement project. Trustees did not record additional public discussion during the meeting and moved these procurement decisions by recorded motions and unanimous votes among those present.
