Premont ISD board elects Irma M. Johnson president; Fred Gutierrez named vice-president, Morales becomes secretary

Following the swearing-in of newly elected trustees at the Nov. 18 special meeting, the Premont ISD Board reorganized its officers: Irma M. Johnson was elected president, Alfredo (Fred) Gutierrez Jr. elected vice-president, and Chris Morales became secretary after Jo Ann Pena declined the office.
After accepting the canvass and swearing in newly elected trustees on Nov. 18, the Premont Independent School District Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership. In the vote for president, Jo Ann Pena nominated Alfredo (Fred) Gutierrez and Emma V. Falcon nominated Irma M. Johnson; members cast votes and Irma M. Johnson was elected president.
The board then elected Alfredo (Fred) Gutierrez as vice-president following nominations by Irma M. Johnson and Ruben A. Martinez. For secretary, Chris Morales nominated Jo Ann Pena and Jo Ann Pena nominated Chris Morales; the minutes show votes for both candidates, that Jo Ann Pena was elected secretary but declined the office, and that Chris Morales became secretary by acclamation.
The reorganization set the board's officer roster for the immediate term: President Irma M. Johnson, Vice-President Alfredo (Fred) Gutierrez Jr., and Secretary Chris Morales. The meeting adjourned at 5:51 p.m.
