Student Art Walks, vendors and community partners highlighted in River District report

As part of the River District Alliance presentation to the CRA advisory board, Lisa Sputano highlighted youth engagement and vendor participation in downtown events. “We have hosted over 1000 Lee County students to perform on our streets,” she said, describing school partnerships coordinated through district staff.
Sputano said the Alliance books roughly 770 art vendors across its Art Walk schedule and contracts about 385 musicians for Music Walk. She described efforts to include entrepreneurial markets for youth and free programming for families, citing partnerships with the Sydney Byrne Davis Art Center, Florida Rep. and local nonprofits. The Alliance emphasized that most programming is provided free to the public and noted logistical constraints (staff of two) and vendor interest tied to potential revenue.
Board members expressed appreciation for student involvement and accessibility of events; Sputano encouraged commissioners and the public to attend upcoming free programs.
