At the May 13 meeting the committee considered and approved multiple resolutions related to emergency services, assigned counsel, STOP DWI promotion, and sheriff operations. Key items included authorizing acceptance of a FEMA/DHSES Hazard Mitigation Grant to update the Cayuga County Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazard Mitigation Plan (5-26-JP-1) and two hazardous-materials grant awards to enhance the Cayuga County Hazardous Materials Team (5-26-JP-2 and 5-26-JP-3).
Other approvals included authorization for the chair to sign a contract with the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services (5-26-JP-11), a media agreement for STOP DWI promotion (5-26-JP-6), and Sheriff-related items including a Canal Corporation grant acceptance and a school-resource-officer contract amendment. Motions on the packet items were moved, seconded and recorded as carried "all in favor."
