Assigned Counsel reports April arraignments and ILS-funded attorney costs

Lloyd Hoskins, representing Assigned Counsel, presented April workload and cost figures to the committee. "There were 49 arraignments at the Centralized Arraignment Program for the month of April," Hoskins said, and noted attorney costs of $9,270 for CAP were paid from an Indigent Legal Services grant.
Hoskins provided court breakdowns: 27 of the CAP arraignments were for town and village courts, 21 for Auburn City Court, and one for County Court. He also said 20 defendants were released on their own recognizance and 29 were held on bail or for other reasons. For Counsel at First Appearance, the office reported 65 in Auburn City Court and 15 in town/village courts, with associated attorney costs of $11,726 covered by the ILS grant.
