Horry County Council paused to recognize employees who have achieved long tenures with the county.
Chair and other members highlighted employees with 30 or more years of service. Council singled out Kathy Floyd for 47 years connected with the solicitor's office; when offered the floor, Floyd thanked God for health and strength and the opportunity to serve across multiple administrations. "Forgive me the health and strength to work here 47 years and with 5 solicitors and I appreciate county council support and all administration," she said.
The council also noted Vivian Gosnell's 30 years of service; Gosnell was not present and was celebrated in absentia for her birthday. Council members took a photo to commemorate the recognitions.
