Legislature creates HELP‑program WIC titles and renews WIC lease with ABC Cayuga

The Cayuga County Legislature authorized creation of two non‑competitive HELP Program titles for the WIC program: Nutritionist (Help Program) and Competent Professional Authority (Help Program). The Health Department was authorized to fill either vacancy with funding described in the Health Department budget and the fill authorization is valid through Dec. 31, 2026. The resolutions state the WIC positions are 100% reimbursed under the WIC grant and were classified by the Cayuga County Civil Service Commission as non‑competitive for the HELP program.
Separately, the Legislature authorized the Public Health Director and the Chair to enter a lease renewal with ABC Cayuga for WIC office/clinic space at $2,852.19 per month for Aug. 1, 2026–Sept. 30, 2027 (14 months). Funding for the lease is from specified Health Department budget accounts.
